Ghorepani-Poonhill trekking itinerary includes a 6-day trek through the scenic Annapurna region of Nepal. The trek starts with a drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara, followed by a trek through various villages and forests to reach the highest point of the trek at Poonhill.


Best Season

The best time to embark on the Ghorepani Poon Hill Trek is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) seasons. During these months, the weather is generally clear and stable, offering excellent visibility of the mountains and comfortable trekking conditions. The spring season is particularly enchanting with blooming rhododendron forests, while the autumn season provides crisp, clear views of the snow-capped peaks.

Important Note

Trip Itinerary

A World Himalaya representative will be there to pick us up from the Tribhuwan International Airport in Kathmandu. We take a short drive from the airport to our hotel. After a short rest, we can visit World Himalaya’s office to discuss more about the trek. In the evening, we have Nepalese cuisine at a welcome dinner hosted by World Himalaya. Overnight in Kathmandu. Meals Dinner 

In the morning visit of Pashupatinath and Bodhnath Stupa. In the afternoon visit of Bhaktapur and Patan. In the late afternoon, you will drive back to Kathmandu. Overnight hotel. Meals Breakfast

After breakfast, a 6-hour drive takes you to Pokhara, covering around 200km of scenic countryside. You can also opt for a 25-minute flight to Pokhara. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel and enjoy a free afternoon to explore Lakeside or do boating at Fewa Lake.

After breakfast, a one-hour drive takes you to Nayapul (50km). Then start your trek and hike for around 3-4 hours to reach Tirkhe Dhunga via Birethati, a prosperous town beside the Modi River. Overnight stay at a guest house.

After breakfast, the trek crosses Bhurungdi Khola on a suspension bridge and heads to a large Magar village called Ulleri. The trail climbs gently through pastures, cultivated fields, rhododendron, and oak forests, reaching Nangethanti. You can have lunch or rest for a short while. Then trek through the forest to Ghorepani, taking around 5-6 hours. Overnight stay at a guest house.

Wake up early morning and hike for an hour to Poon Hill (3210m) with the help of a stick and flashlight. Here you can enjoy panoramic mountain views and a beautiful sunrise view at eye level. Trek down to Ghorepani, have breakfast, and then trek for 6 hours to Tadapani. The trail climbs along ridges and through pine and rhododendron forests to Deurali. Descend to Banthanti and wind your way to Tadapani. Overnight stay at a hotel.

After breakfast, trek for around 4 hours downhill to reach the big Gurung village called Ghandruk, the most interesting tribal Gurung village in Nepal that provides Gorkha soldiers. You can enjoy excellent close-up views of Annapurna South, Machhapurchhe, and Himachuli here. There is also an ACAP office that provides information about its different activities. Overnight stay at a guest house.

Today is the last day of the trek. After breakfast, trek for 3-4 hours and then take a bus back to Pokhara. Overnight stay at a hotel.
