Overview

The Gokyo Chola Pass Everest Base Camp Trek is considered one of the most thrilling and adventurous trekking routes in the Everest region. At times, it is also referred to as the Everest Circuit trek. This challenging journey takes you through the high-altitude Cho-La Pass, situated at 5330 meters above sea level, en route to Everest Base Camp. The trek commences from Lukla, a small town in Nepal's Khumbu region. After spending a day acclimatizing in Namche Bazaar, you will embark on a remarkable journey that will ultimately lead you to Gokyo Lake, offering breathtaking vistas of the Everest, Makalu, and Cho Oyo peaks from the summit of Gokyo Ri (5480m). The subsequent day, you will cross Chola Pass (5330m) and reach Dzongla. From there, your route proceeds to Gorakshep, where you will ascend to Kalapathar (5545m), affording you an awe-inspiring, up-close view of Mount Everest. Finally, you will trek to the legendary Everest Base Camp before your return journey takes you through Tyangboche, home to a renowned and picturesque monastery, where you can rest and savor the incredible views of Mt. Everest, Mt. Amadablam, Mt. Thamserku, Mt. Kangega, Mt. Kwangde, Mt. Nuptse, and more, before heading back to Lukla for your flight to Kathmandu.
