Welcome to the vibrant capital of Nepal! Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative will greet you and accompany you to your hotel. Take some time to relax or explore the nearby streets of Thamel. In the evening, you’ll meet your guide for a short briefing about your journey through Nepal's spiritual and historical landmarks.
Today’s guided exploration covers some of Kathmandu’s most iconic cultural sites. Begin with the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath along the Bagmati River, followed by the peaceful Buddhist stupa of Boudhanath, one of the largest in the world. You'll then visit the ancient hilltop shrine of Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple) and the historic Kathmandu Durbar Square, filled with palaces and courtyards. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.
After breakfast, embark on a scenic overland journey (approx. 7–8 hours) through the diverse landscapes of Nepal’s mid-hills and the fertile plains of the Terai. Arrive in Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Check-in to your hotel and enjoy a peaceful evening in this serene, spiritual town.
Today, immerse yourself in the tranquil ambiance of Lumbini. Visit the Maya Devi Temple, which marks the exact spot where Buddha was born. Explore the Ashoka Pillar, erected by Emperor Ashoka in the 3rd century BCE, and the sacred pond where Queen Maya Devi is said to have bathed before giving birth. Wander through the monastic zone, home to stunning temples and monasteries built by various Buddhist communities from around the world. Overnight in Lumbini.
After breakfast, begin your return journey to Kathmandu. Enjoy the scenic route as you reflect on the spiritual experience of Lumbini. Upon arrival in the capital, you can enjoy some leisure time—perhaps a final round of shopping or a relaxing dinner at a traditional Nepali restaurant.
Your cultural journey through Nepal comes to an end today. Depending on your flight schedule, we will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport. We hope your time in Nepal has been enlightening and inspiring. Safe travels and Namaste!
