Highlights

Overview

Embark on a profound spiritual journey to the sacred Mount Kailash and the pristine Mansarovar Lake, nestled in the remote highlands of Tibet. Revered across multiple religions including Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, and Bon, Mount Kailash is considered the earthly manifestation of Mount Meru, the center of the universe. This 10-day fixed departure tour offers a unique blend of cultural immersion, breathtaking landscapes, and deep spiritual experiences.

Starting from Kathmandu, the adventure begins with a scenic drive to the Nepal-Tibet border at Rasuwagadhi, followed by entry into Tibet through Kerung. The route traverses picturesque Tibetan landscapes, winding past turquoise rivers, rugged mountain passes, and vast plateaus that evoke a timeless, otherworldly atmosphere. Highlights include the Ghuntala Pass and the crossing of Mayum La Pass, where travelers are greeted with their first awe-inspiring views of Mount Kailash and the sacred Mansarovar Lake.

The journey includes ample time for acclimatization in Kerung and a sacred ritual bath and prayers at Lake Mansarovar, believed to cleanse the soul and bring blessings. The pilgrimage continues with the Kailash Kora — a revered circumambulation trek around Mount Kailash. This physically and spiritually challenging trek crosses the highest point at Dolma La Pass (5,630m), offering panoramic views of the peak and the surrounding holy sites such as Gauri Kund.

Accommodation varies from comfortable twin-sharing guesthouses in larger towns to basic dormitory-style lodging near the lake and along the Kora route, ensuring an authentic experience close to local Tibetan life. The entire trip is supported by experienced English-speaking Tibetan guides who offer insights into the region’s rich culture, history, and spiritual significance.

This tour is ideal for travelers seeking both adventure and inner reflection in one of the most mystical places on Earth. Participants should be physically prepared for high-altitude trekking and the rigors of remote travel, yet will be richly rewarded with unforgettable vistas, spiritual fulfillment, and cultural discoveries.
