Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu (1,320 m) and transfer to hotel.

Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, you will be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel in Kathmandu. Take some time to rest and relax after your journey, and perhaps explore the nearby area.

Day 2 : Morning tour of Kathmandu, afternoon preparation for the trek.

After breakfast, embark on a guided tour of Kathmandu's cultural and historical landmarks, including UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath Stupa, and Boudhanath Stupa. In the afternoon, meet your trekking guide for a briefing and final preparations for the upcoming adventure.

Day 3 : Fly from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur (20 minutes) and drive to Phidim (1,340 m).

Catch an early morning flight from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur, followed by a scenic drive to Phidim, a bustling town in the eastern region of Nepal. Spend the night in Phidim, preparing for the trek ahead.

Day 4 : Drive to Sukhetar (2,440 m, 4 hours) and trek to Lali Kharka (1,900 m, 3 hours trek).

After breakfast, drive to Sukhetar, the starting point of the trek. From Sukhetar, begin trekking towards Lali Kharka, a picturesque village nestled amidst lush forests and terraced fields. Enjoy the first views of the majestic Kanchenjunga range along the way.

Day 5 : Trek to Kande Bhanjyang (2,100 m, 6 hrs).

Today's trek takes you through remote villages and scenic landscapes as you ascend to Kande Bhanjyang. Along the way, soak in the tranquility of the Himalayan foothills and encounter the unique culture of the local communities.

Day 6 : Trek to Phompe Danda (1,850 m, 6 hrs).

Continue your journey through pristine forests and terraced fields, ascending to Phompe Danda. The trail offers panoramic views of the surrounding valleys and snow-capped peaks, providing ample opportunities for photography and exploration.

Day 7 : Trek to Yangphudin (2,150 m) at Sherpa Gaon (6 hrs).

Today's trek leads you to Yangphudin, a traditional Sherpa village renowned for its hospitality and cultural heritage. Enjoy interactions with the friendly locals and immerse yourself in the serene mountain ambiance.

Day 8 : Trek to Doronding (2,880 m) via Lashe Tham Pass (3,800 m, 6 hrs).

Embark on a challenging ascent to Lashe Tham Pass, offering panoramic views of the Kanchenjunga range. Descend to Doronding, a remote settlement surrounded by towering peaks and pristine wilderness.

Day 9 : Trek to Tseram (3,770 m, 5 hrs).

Today's trek takes you through rugged terrain and alpine meadows as you make your way to Tseram. Marvel at the diverse flora and fauna of the Kanchenjunga Conservation Area, including rare orchids and elusive wildlife.

Day 10 : Rest day at Tseram for a hike to Oktang near Kanchenjunga South BC.

Take a day to acclimate and explore the surroundings of Tseram. Optionally, embark on a hike to Oktang, offering close-up views of the majestic Kanchenjunga South Base Camp and surrounding peaks.

Day 11 : Cross Sele-La Pass (4,250 m) and camp at Sele-Le (3,700 m, 8 hrs).

Begin the day with a challenging ascent to Sele-La Pass, crossing high mountain passes and glacial moraines. Descend to Sele-Le, where you will set up camp amidst the pristine Himalayan wilderness.

Day 12 : Trek to Ghunsa (3,480 m, 4 hrs).

Descend through rhododendron forests and alpine meadows to the village of Ghunsa. Enjoy the warm hospitality of the local Sherpa community and explore the village's cultural attractions.

Day 13 : Trek to Khambachen (4,000 m, 6 hrs).

Follow the Ghunsa River upstream to the remote village of Khambachen, nestled beneath towering cliffs and glaciers. Enjoy stunning views of the surrounding peaks and immerse yourself in the tranquility of the high Himalayas.

Day 14 : Trek to Lhonak (4,780 m, 6 hrs).

Ascend further into the heart of the Kanchenjunga region, reaching the village of Lhonak. Marvel at the breathtaking scenery of snow-capped peaks and vast glaciers surrounding the village.

Day 15 : Hike to Pang Pema at 5,150 m around Kanchenjunga North Base Camp (7 hrs both ways).

Embark on an exhilarating hike to Pang Pema, the base camp of Kanchenjunga North. Enjoy unparalleled views of the towering peaks of Kanchenjunga and the surrounding glaciers.

Day 16 : Trek to Ghunsa (3,480 m, 8 hrs).

Descend from Lhonak to Ghunsa, retracing your steps through alpine meadows and dense forests. Take time to rest and rejuvenate in Ghunsa before continuing your journey.

Day 17 : Trek to Gyapla Phedi (2,300 m, 7 hrs).

Descend along the Ghunsa River, passing through lush forests and picturesque valleys. Arrive at Gyapla Phedi, where you will camp for the night amidst the serene mountain scenery.

Day 18 : Trek to Sekathum/Japantar (1,350 m, 7 hrs).

Descend further into the subtropical forests of the lower Himalayas, reaching the village of Sekathum or Japantar. Enjoy the warm climate and lush vegetation of the region as you unwind after a day of trekking.

Day 19 : Trek to Chirwa (1,250 m, 6 hrs).

Continue your descent through the lush forests and terraced fields of the lower foothills. Arrive at the village of Chirwa, where you can relax and explore the local culture and traditions.

Day 20 : Trek to Phurumbu School (1,500 m, 7 hrs).

Follow the trail through quaint villages and verdant forests, passing by the Phurumbu School. Enjoy the scenic beauty of the landscape and the warm hospitality of the local communities.

Day 21 : Trek to Sukhetar (2,440 m, 4 hrs).

Conclude your trek with a leisurely walk back to Sukhetar, where you began your adventure. Reflect on the unforgettable experiences and memories made during your journey through the Kanchenjunga region.

Day 22 : Drive to Ilam with overnight stay in a local lodge (6 hrs).

Depart Sukhetar and drive to Ilam, a picturesque hill station known for its tea gardens and panoramic views of the Himalayas. Enjoy a relaxing evening in the tranquil surroundings of Ilam.

Day 23 : Drive to Bhadrapur airport and fly back to Kathmandu.

After breakfast, depending on your flight schedule, you may have some free time for additional sightseeing or shopping in Kathmandu.
