This is a short tour of historical and cultural villages, starting from Kathmandu and heading towards Gorkha, Panchkhuwa Deurali. It promises a romantic and memorable experience. During the tour, you will visit Brahmin, Gurung, and other ethnic communities, immersing yourself in their rich culture. You will have the opportunity to enjoy local breakfast, lunch, and dinner in a family environment within the village. Additionally, you can engage in reading, research, and sightseeing.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Depart from Kathmandu to Gorkha, Panchkhuwa Deurali by bus.

After an 8-hour journey, you will reach the Deurali village. Upon arrival, the local community will warmly welcome you with cultural programs and traditional dances such as Kauda and Jhaure. The village offers stunning hillside views of mountains such as Mt. Ganesh, Manaslu, and Annapurna.

Day 2 : On the second day, you will descend towards Aru Arbang, Aprik, which takes around 7 hours.

Alternatively, you can rest in Kalleri village. Aprik is a historical and cultural Gurung village situated at an altitude of 2000 meters above sea level. The village is surrounded by lush green jungles, hills, and mountains. You will also have the chance to witness Gurung cultural dances like Ghatu, Sorathi, and Kauda.

Day 3 : After an 8-hour walk, you will reach Sulikot village from Aprik.

Along the way, you will visit Chisapani village and Dharche hill. Sulikot village holds historical significance as it was once ruled by Gurung kings before the 16th century. You can still find symbolic remnants of the kingdom in the village. The village is located at an altitude of 2000 meters.

Day 4 : On this day, after a 5-hour walk from Sulikot, you will arrive at Saurpani and Ghunchok.

You will pass through Swara village, which is predominantly inhabited by the Brahmin community. From Ghunchok, you can enjoy panoramic views of mountains like Manaslu, Rubinala, Buddha, and Annapurna. The village sits at an altitude of 2000 meters.

Day 5 : After a few hours of walking, you will reach Keura and Pokhari villages and continue for a total of 8 hours to reach Barpak village.

Barpak is another historical and cultural Gurung village. It was the kingdom of Gurung King Ghale in the 16th century. The village, situated at an altitude of 2200 meters, offers a serene and peaceful environment. You can explore the hillside views and historical sites while enjoying the typical Gurung culture.

Day 6 : In the morning, you will be driven back to Kathmandu by bus or private vehicle, which will take approximately 10 hours.
