Trip Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400m/4,592ft)

Welcome to Nepal! Upon landing at Tribhuvan International Airport, a representative will greet you and escort you to your hotel. Once checked in, take some time to relax or explore the vibrant Thamel district. In the evening, you’ll meet your guide for a short briefing on your upcoming adventure into the wilds of western Nepal.

Day 2 : Fly from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj and Drive to Bardia National Park (152m/498ft)

After breakfast, board a short domestic flight to Nepalgunj, a bustling town near the Indian border. From there, enjoy a scenic drive through rural countryside to reach Bardia National Park. Upon arrival, check into a jungle lodge nestled on the park’s edge. Spend your afternoon getting acquainted with the local surroundings or visit a nearby Tharu village for an introductory cultural experience.

Day 3 : Full-Day Exploration of Bardia National Park

Today is all about venturing deep into the park. Accompanied by experienced naturalists and guides, you’ll head out on foot or by jeep safari into the dense sal forests and open grasslands. With a bit of luck and patience, you may encounter elusive Royal Bengal tigers, wild elephants, swamp deer, and the iconic one-horned rhinoceros. Return to the lodge for a traditional Tharu dinner.

Day 4 : Jungle and River Safari – Crocodile Watching and Birding

Start your day with a peaceful river safari along the Karnali or Babai River. As you float silently, keep an eye out for mugger crocodiles, gharials, and a wide array of birdlife. In the afternoon, explore new areas of the park—perhaps following fresh tiger tracks or visiting a watchtower for panoramic views. Later, enjoy a lively Tharu cultural dance performance that brings their history and identity to life.

Day 5 : Drive Back to Nepalgunj and Fly to Kathmandu (1,400m/4,592ft)

After a hearty breakfast, say farewell to the jungle as you drive back to Nepalgunj. From there, catch a short flight to Kathmandu. Once back in the capital, you’ll have some free time for last-minute shopping or a quiet stroll through the old city streets. Overnight at your hotel.

Day 6 : Final Departure

As your wildlife adventure concludes, we’ll arrange a transfer to the airport based on your flight schedule. Thank you for exploring Nepal’s wilder side with us—may the sights, sounds, and spirit of Bardia stay with you always. Safe travels and Namaste!
